Northland residents now have access to a wider range of health and wellness services thanks to our recent partnership with a prominent community organizations.
Earlier this year, the new North Kansas City YMCA, a partnership between the YMCA of Greater Kansas City and North Kansas City, created an opportunity for NKCH to serve as the facility’s onsite medical wellness partner.
YMCA members who visit the NKC facility can take advantage of health screenings and risk assessments; lifestyle programs that focus on health concerns such as obesity, diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease; and clinically supervised programs and exercise plans. NKCH also hosts a Lunch & Learn Series featuring physicians who discuss health topics of community interest.
“North Kansas City Hospital is committed to the health and wellness of our community, and we look forward to collaborating with the Y and North Kansas City for the benefit of the community,” said Peggy Schmitt, president and CEO of North Kansas City Hospital.
We’re excited to work with the City of NKC and NKCH to serve more people and provide more programs to improve quality of life for people of all ages,” says John Mikos, executive vice president and COO , YMCA of Greater Kansas City. “The Y has been part of successful partnerships like this one in other communities, and we look forward to this new opportunity to work together to better serve our community.”
