Described as a quaint haven, Ladoga welcomes visitors with a glass of wine and a tour of the winery and vineyards. Jowler Creek uses green technology, such as solar power, to make its wine. You might also see sheep to control weeds and chickens to reduce insects on the 6-acre sustainable vineyard. The oldest of all the wineries on our list, Pirtle was established in 1978 and is located in a former Lutheran Evangelical Church built by German immigrants in 1867. The indoor winegarden and bar can accommodate 50 guests for special events.
