Feel Good Moment

Food continues to be of no interest… never would of dreamed I would truly not care about food. But the better thing…. dug out some jeans that are two sizes smaller…. and they fit good!!!! Down 2 sizes in 8 weeks…. no wonder it is so much easier to pick things up off the floor! More good things to come!!!!

Still try to find new foods that I can eat, like and tolerate… have found some ways to get fish into my diet! Yogurt – nope, just can’t do it!

Challenges

My first major outing, for more than a couple of days, was my annual trip to the State Fair. Needless to say, traditional fair food isn’t exactly what I can eat so planning required. I also was working at the fair so knew time to eat would be limited… again, planning required. So with my protein bars and plenty of drink options (non-alcoholic and alcoholic) packed I headed to the fair.

Good things that surfaced – I was on my feet all day, every day exercising a lot more, napping a lot less! Weather was perfect fair weather! I did well… kind of triggered me over the plateau that I had seemed to be at! And the good thing, I’ve been motivated to continue exercising again since I’ve returned home! And, I managed to still enjoy some of my very favorite state fair foods…. ice cream from the dairy barn; grilled cheese with real cheddar cheese; Pork Loin from the Pork Chop Place; steak dinner from the Beef House; tenderloin and biscuits and gravy from Trucks…. just ALL things in moderation…. but I did it. And learned that I can make it through the fair with very little alcohol… found ways to still enjoy an occasional social drink (quick buzz does follow) and yet tolerate it!

Now at the 100+ mark…. wow…. simply amazing… and to think it was this time one year ago that the pics from the fair put me over the edge with how I looked and felt and really pushed me to make some decisions in my life! No comparison… and seeing friends, and working for the photographer really gave me some energy and spark as well….. friends…. I’m gonna get around this bend yet…. there is light on my horizon and I’m finally feeling like ME again…. and the lyrics of Robert Earl Keen say it all…. “it feels so good, feelin’ good again”… and Uncle Kracker… “Damn, It feels good to be me…” now to just keep this feeling going as we move from summer….
