Day 11 – drove for 1st time today since surgery – went to grocery store. I was planning on going to a friend’s house today just to get out a bit, but by the time I got the grocery store done and back home – I was too tired to go anywhere. Do seem to run out of energy very quickly.

Day 13 – calcium pill evidently lodged in stomach opening. Drank my protein drink, but it didn’t stay down. First time of vomiting since surgery. Will try again tomorrow.

Day 16 – first real food! One scrambled egg and it felt like rocks in my stomach. Walked around for a bit, took deep breaths. Discomfort passed.

Day 17 – a real challenge to keep track of where I’m at with protein and fluids and try to eat some soft foods. Scrambled eggs better today.

Day 19 – cheated a bit – Thanksgiving Dinner – not a problem to have food all around, so not even hungry at all. Did eat a tablespoon of mashed sweet potato; a tablespoon of mashed green beans and ½ of a deviled egg…. Felt like I ate an entire huge plate. Amazing to not be hungry and not have cravings!

Day 22 – Doctors appointment – down 28 pounds and feeling good.
